On November 11th, 11.11.11, across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens recorded the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the second annual global day of media creation called One Day on Earth. Together, we have created a shared archive and a film. Free entry

Monday, April 23rd at 5.30pm: concert - vocals and percussion.
The Duo Lame Vocale is a unique French training of its kind consisting of soprano Léa Sarfati and percussionist Illya Amar, Their concert offers a poetic trip through time and space on European, Eastern, classical and traditional melodies.

Saturday, January 28th at 5.30 pm: concert dedicated to the tanbur by Ustad Lal Mohamad with Guldasta-e-Kharabat. A special guest from ANIM Winter Music Academy, the oboist Anne Gilby will join the artists on stage. With the support of the Ministry of Information and Culture, the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM), the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), the Aga Khan Music Initiative (AKMI), the Institut Français d’Afghanistan, The Killid Group (TKG) and the DHSA NGO. Wednesday, January 8th of February at 5.30pm: The Second Annual Winter Music Academy, featuring the Afghan Youth Orchestra in Ravel’s Bolero as well as the ensembles and guest artists of ANIM. Organized by The Ministry of Education, the Afghanistan National Institute of Music and the Institut Français d’Afghanistan. Free Entrance. Limited places, reservation is recommended.

Saturday, December 10th at 2pm – Human Rights, media and freedom of expression’s

Week - 10-15 December - Opening Ceremony, photo exhibition preview and website launching. Organized by Open Society Organization, IFA, International Media Support (IMS), Swiss agency for Development and Cooperation with the kind participation of UNAMA, Writer House, Armanshahr Foundation and 8 am. Program: film screening, theatre, debate, poem reading and special tribute for journalists.

Sunday 11th December at 2pm - Theater performance and debate: Wall directed by Tahera Hashemi with Tahera Hashemi, Papyrus Theatre company with the kind collaboration of Theatre Department, Kabul University.

Monday 12th December at 3pm : Poem reading and debate “literature and Human Rights” presented by Writer House and OSO

Tuesday 13th December at 2pm: Film screening and debate: The Fixer Afghanistan behind the scenes directed by Ian Olds presented by IMS.

Monday, November 21th – 10th anniversary of Afghanistan Demain.

10.00am – Photos and drawing exhibition along with a special piano recital of Missa Johnouchi, Japanese artist named UNESCO (2006) artist for peace, dedicated to children. Venue: IFA

5.00pm – Piano Recital of Missa Johnouchi, a special charitable evening. All proceeds will go to Afghanistan Demain NGO. Venue: Kabul Serena Hotel.
Wednesday, November 23rd at 5.00pm: Concert – Afghan and Classical music, Ghazal. 

An unrealized encounter between Guldasta-e Kharabat and the young musicians of The Music Department of Kabul Faculty of Fine arts. This exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture, Kabul Municipality, Iran Embassy in Afghanistan, Union of Khorassan Publishers, Kabul Peoples' national Council, Zahab publishers, the French Institute of Afghanistan, Bayhaqi Publishers and the National Gallery of Kabul.

Peace Counts on Tour Exhibition Project

The Basic Education Program for Afghanistan (BEPA) together with the Goethe Institute and the Ministry of Information and Culture cordially invites you to the official opening ceremony of the Peace Counts on Tour Exhibition Project to be held on October 8, 3p.m. at the Goethe Institute Kabul.

The Peace Counts on Tour exhibition and workshop was developed 10 years ago and since then has been conducted in many countries throughout the whole world. Using examples of successful conflict transformation and conflict management, the aim of the project is to give people worldwide an opportunity to reflect on these experiences made in other parts of the world and to use and integrate them in their own work with schools, youth, communities, etc. on this issue. From 9th to 13th of October, Afghan partners from Teacher Training Colleges in the provinces of Badakhshan, Balkh, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul and Takhar will be trained in peaceful conflict management.

Sound Studies is an exciting new musical development in Kabul’s distinctive arts scene. Focusing on live music collaborations between Afghan Artists and Guest Artists from around the world, Sound Studies provides a creative platform and professional environment where musicians create with respect to expressing identity, celebrating diversity, and encouraging unity.
